Sadao Border free essay sample

Sadao and Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration Checkpoint Have you ever been stuck in your car for four hours in slow moving traffic? Without traffic it would take less than twenty minutes. To me this is such a frustration and aggravation. I experience this on frequent bases while crossing the border back and forth from Thailand. I get stuck at the Sadao and Bukit Kayu Hitam for at least three hours each weekend because it is always jam-packed with people, cars, vans, buses and trucks. With thousands of people and goods crossing the border each week there should be an expansion to both the Thai and Malaysia checkpointsThe Sadao Immigration checkpoint is located in Dannok village, Sadao District, Songkhla Province, Southern Thailand. This is where the immigration department checks your travel documents before entering into Thailand by road. The immigration officers would sometimes check your luggage for safety reasons. This crossing is the busiest between Thailand and Malaysia. We will write a custom essay sample on Sadao Border or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The border is the southern end point to Thailands National Highway that runs all the way to Bangkok via Hatyai. Most buses, vans, lorries importing and exporting goods and most commercial activity between Malaysia and Thailand uses the Sadao border. On the Thai side of the border you must park your car and walk up to the immigration booth to get your passport stamped. While entering you must fill out an arrival and departure form with you information and purpose of entering the country, etc. You would normally pay the officers RM 1 to fasten the process. Many tourist from Malaysia and Singapore goes to Dannok and Hatyai for the weekend for shopping, food, and the entertaining nightlife scene before people claims the variety is certainly more interesting than Malaysia and prices are much cheaper. Malaysians come here to stock up with things from durians to underwear.Dannok is a town located right after the checkout. There is not much to see during daytime and becomes vibrant at night. On both sides of the highway many little lanes with karaoke bars, nightclubs, pubs, massage parlors and night markets. The Malaysia Immigration checkpoint is located in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah. Bukit Kayu Hitam translates to â€Å"Black Forest† in English, has few shops located on side roads off the main highway. Bukit Kayu Hitam is the northern starting point of the North-South Expressway, which runs all the way south to Johor Bharu passing through Kuala Lumpur. At Bukit Kayu Hitam immigration has drive-through booth, which means that you do not need to get out your vehicle while getting your travel documents checked. Here you are required to fill the Malaysians arrival and departure form, and to pay highway toll of RM3. 80 before you enter Malaysia. Although there are drive-through immigration booths, security on the Malaysian side seems stricter than Thailand’s, the officer make you open your trunk and search your luggage. Many Thais enters Malaysia for education, Leisure time at Genting Highlands or Cameron Highlands and to conduct business in Malaysia.Between the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint and Dannok Checkpoint is a distance of about 1km between the two checkpoints. In between the two checkpoints is the huge Duty Free shopping complex, located in Malaysian territory. Where you can get good quality and cheap duty free items. Unlike, Dannok, there is not much to see in Bukit Kayu Hitam except for the hordes of people trying to cross into or coming in from Thailand. With so much tourism and commercial activity that goes on at both borders, having beneficial gains for both countries. The current Immigration checkpoints can no longer handle the traffic and congestion. When standing in line to get your passport stamped and it can take up to an hour, is absolutely ridiculous. Their needs to be an innovation and expansion made in both these facilities, both checkpoints need more immigration booths, more lanes for cars and more parking spaces. This will surely smoothen border-crossing experiences, and will bring more beneficial gains in long term because it will encourage more tourism and Export and Imports of goods between the two countries.

Right Customers for Strategic Advantage †Free Samples to Students

Question: Discuss about the Right Customers for Strategic Advantage. Answer: Introduction With a corporate framework of offering eminence goods at affordable rates, HM has built itself as top international fashion industry. The product has a definite desire for style and is continuously determined to exceed purchaser expectation with its most reliable prices (HM, 2015). While the paper concentrates on the company as a single brand, there are other products contained within the Hennes Mauritz AB group. The company has 3,261 stores in 55 nations as well as online shops in 12 states (HM 2018). The companys stores have diverse clothing and fittings for men, children, and women. The constantly developing variety has presented cosmetics, footwear and a companys home range that has a broad choice of home decorative and tiles substances (HM 2015). While the HM is an independent trademark, it is enormously swayed by the fashion sector. Whatever occurs in the industry and with the international economy, it has a direct influence on the selection HM creates. The fashion businesses have $1.5 trillion internationally and hire a million of individuals, and offer a considerable contribution to the overall universal economy (Bhasin 2017). Mainly, observing at the high street as fashion vending platforms, there have been, presently is, and will be a steady development of various styles; influencing how it acts in its market, the high street is under huge burden as many market trends affects its return on investment, future relevance, and famous (KMPG 2015). The study displays that more outlets are departing on the high street than those introducing, with 2013 recording 5,839 shops closed and only 4852 opened (MBA Skool 2017). The threat of entry (medium): the UK attire sector does not automatically come with restriction, and therefore it is a secure business (Harrin and Peplow 2017). Initiating an online workshop is now more accessible, meaning that HM faces risk from new competitors. They would be influenced deeply if effective online brands were to open physical supplies such as Misguided, Boohoo and ASOS (HM 2018). HM can overwhelm the threats of new players since it is an established brand that has a robust customer with product loyalty. New contestants are faced with the fact that they are fresh and so they need to design a solid repute (Armstrong and Taylor 2014, pp. 23). The threat of substitute (medium): the company is constantly faced with the notions of users going somewhere else to purchase the similar products (Berman et al. 2015, pp. 13). The market styles such as economic slump made public to hold on to their cash and expend little. Therefore, they had no choice but to go for cheaper outlets such as Primark where they could get comparable goods at a lower rate. However, the first product that HM presented permits them to hold some of the marker shares when it comes to low-priced but jovial attires (HM group 2017). The intensity of the rivalry (strong): HM as fast seller is constantly faced with competition between contestants but eventually they want to be a leader in the market (Custora 2018). To desist from being majorly impacted by competition, the company has planned aspects of their product that make them stands out of the rest. Political: HM have no option but to conform to the political matters and informed laws. As the company source from the Far East, then, whatever is being conveyed will have to adhere to customs obligations (Monaghan 2018). If the regime introduces a new tariff, then the product has to function under the regulations. Lately, new laws have been brought that shows that firms need to modify 5P for plastic baggage (HM 2018). Watching particularly at the important the issue might bring to the company, is that the brand could be affected by the users who are annoyed to purchase of bag. The frustration could be transferred to the brand bearing in the mind it is not an error on their behalf (Pratap 2017). Economic: HM have to control the financial environment to predict what one does in future. Supply and demand, devaluation and inflation are the aspects that organisation wants to take into contemplation (Armstrong and Taylor 2014, pp. 25). If there was to be an increase in price, then the company will adjust the price of their products. The buying command of users would vary as customers may not be capable to afford to indulge in a spending binge and as an alternative go where they can acquire product cheaply (Entrepreneur 2018). Social: the features are affected by the populace and are determined by social drifts, community and demographic methodical. At present, over 50 make up over 35% of the populace and also have disposable revenue thus making them very lucrative target viewers (HM 2018). The fashion influences the way HM may advertise to touch the old viewer. Other features comprise the cultural and religious upbringings as the demand of specific goods and very dependent on what population are demanding in that locality. Technology: with the announcement of more innovative technology comprising the tablets and phones, brands have to modify their marketing mix to keep up with the trends. Apps are more common and accessible than ever, and numerous products are integrating an app into their sort (MBA Skool 2017). For instance, the extravagance Burbery set up a snap chats and used it to show their SS1 assortment to the public. HM have positively integrated technology into its product by testing it in New York store; there are features that allow users to pay for the prediction and shared mannequins and cybernetic runaway that could project onto an ad in Times Square (HM Group 2018). While the company stick to their guns in the middle ground, their brand ethos fashion and quality at the best price (CRM Consulting 2016), they are continuously in comparison with other products. Within the high street market, HM is the most appropriately positioned in view of the quality, price and stylish appeal (Harrin and Peplow 2017). Forever 21 are the direct rivals for the company as they retail comparable goods. The benefit the HM has over the Forever 21 is established customer based in other sections such as homeware, kid wears, women wear and menswear (Entrepreneur 2018). Topshop is another direct participant that has a large grip on the style market share. The company has more prestige standing than HM, and although some quantities are inexpensive, it comes across as more luxurious brand. GAP is an indirect competitor, as it has been publicly neglected by users in the previous years due to its inability to have a niche that makes it stand out from the rest. Zara is the top brand of Inditex group and presently has more than 2,000 shops across the globe. The company hold positions 58 in the world as the most valuable brands (HM Group 2018). Zara is the market leaders and most successful with more prominent market segmentation than even HM within the fashion market. Zara and HM are regularly situated meters apart in many physical retailers, and they seem to mimic each other approaches when it comes to visual selling and advertising. While HM takes a back seat to menswear, ZARA has more products approach which pays well as the products are very successful. HM can invest more cash and take over significant part in the market. The above evidence proposes that Zara has more customer outreach (Entrepreneur 2018). The value chain Made by Michael Porters is certainly crucial to observe how a firm structure is created (Armstrong and Taylor 2014, pp. 30). Two parts constitute the value chain. Supports activities: (human resource management, technology development, firm's infrastructure) and primary activities (marketing sales, inbound and outbound logistic and operations). Most common for EU clothing firms that outsource has the capability to concentrate on the core operations of the company (Harrin and Peplow 2017). All resources and knowledge can be focused on one or a few processes. The EU clothing companies are frequently focused on the activities that are adding the most value to their producers. Core activities are kept internally, and non-core operations are outsourced. Design, quality, innovation and technology are activities often held internally; they are primary activities that contribute a lot to the firms success. For the H M, the core activities are to create fashion and quality at an affordable price to maintain the competitive advantage. HM achieve above by working with more than 100 designers that are continuously working to develop the latest brand. The company also has more than 100 buyers that re-structure the range planning (Harrin and Peplow 2017). Finally, the firm has local production offices that are managing the practical things such local contact with the local suppliers. Size and bargain power: the company is successful as a result of being able to focus on core activities. The company is active in 28 nations with 145 stores. Control by culture: HM is concentrating on core operation, but, it still manages to control the whole value chain. The culture and spirit of the company are based on the belief that responsibility, common sense and innovation are the guidelines for companys co-operators. The business framework of the company is intended to provide current style at the best value, through a motivated and dedicated staff. Therefore, the firm relies on its robust culture, norms and values such as initiative and decentralisation, experimentation, employee involvement is highly praised and encouraged. Logistics and IT: The significance of the IT is to be capable of controlling the logistic-chain effectively. Through the use of suppliers from outside, the company depends on numerous sections to perform their job efficiently. The technological advancements play a key role in ensuring that the model of getting suppliers from outside functions effectively. For the HM, technology development is best characteristics that assist the company to continue controlling the extensive providers (HM Group 2018). The components of a well-functioning logistic chain, as well as the unique advanced technology such as IT, are thus a complementarity to the companys business model. Closeness to the market: By outsourcing, the company gets in contact with new markets, achieve control over the users needs and more importantly, the transportation time is minimised. To achieve closeness to the market, an increase in both the international production and independent suppliers is crucial Lower prices and lower costs; The fashion sector is a human resource labor intensive business that is facing pressure to lower the cost of production and thus lower the prices of commodities as well. HM forms a good case of a clothing company that separated production from other industrial processes thus outsourcing from countries with low wages. Currently, the company is producing in both Asia and Eastern Europe (HM Group 2018). Flexible capital: Companies operating in countries with unstable financial muscles are increasing capital costs for their firms. The HM remains actively operational in Eastern Europe and Asia by lowering its operating capital as well as prices through outsourcing their services from suppliers abroad instead of engaging in actual production activities (Mstoribori 2013). Physical facilities: including production offices which are responsible for coordinating with approved suppliers and factories around the globe, warehouses and distributions centres. As noted, HM owns no physical stores forcing them to get their products from other official producers. Intangible assets: including their brand, with substantial equity and reputation of their IT system which has been improved to meet the customer demand through the fulfillment of customer needs and preferences (SCN Education 2013, pp. 5). Human resources: includes an effective and efficient management, employees striving to uphold the firms culture and committed personnel who are well qualified. Financials: the long terms commitment and ownership by the family offers a sound financial basis for the company. Additionally, the financial results and rations look positive. Replication: as far as the HM evolution is concerned, replication is the most critical proficiency the corporation relies upon (Smith 2016). Thus, to open adequate novel outlets, the company minimises the use of formal procedures and rules and wishes to provide its workers with tactic skills through empirical education in the ground. Design: centralised plan action not only assists quicker responses to ever-changing market tendencies in fashion but makes sure that HM can stay original and novel (Smith 2016). Stores model: the company desires to have its outlets in the best positions and makes sure that windows exhibitions are altered and reorganized to gain constant client consideration and that internal strategy of the store is organized in such a way that it gives the most suitable in-store experiences for the consumers. Resources Competencies Needed to be able to compete in market Threshold resources Physical facilities financial Threshold competencies Design Store concepts Supply chain management Needed to acquire a competitive advantage Distinctive resources Intangible assets Human resources Distinctive competences Culture Replication What is different about the HM? Brand and thrust Human capital Financial Strong brand Ethical practices Improving working conditions Emphasize on using natural resources responsibly Non-hierarchical management style Delegation of responsibilities High level of identification with HMS corporate culture Participative culture Brand worth Leased stores premises Revenues 3,500 stores in 57 countries Employs more than 132, 000 employees Strategic capabilities (Fader 2012, pp. 15) Design High responsiveness to fashion Centralised Minimal period to the market Supply chain Purchasing flexibility Centralised Highly innovative infrastructure Marketing Log-term advertisement Collaboration with famous designers Strong social media presence Sustained competitive strategy The above classification is crucial and useful to comprehend HM strategic capabilities; separately identifying the competencies and resources. Therefore, it important to thoroughly evaluate the extent to which the company HM strategic capabilities produce a superior position compared to its competitors (Fader 2012, pp. 12). The overview below shows the listings with respect to the company resources and competencies. It is essential to consider the relative strengths of the HM strategic capabilities and to what extent they do things differently compared to the main competitor, Zara (Smith 2016). Strict strategic capabilities have been listed regarding competencies and resources and evaluated through the lens of the distinctive and threshold character; there are more specific ways to analyse competitive advantage and what extent that can be sustained (Fader 2012, pp. 19). Conclusion According to the porters, competitive strategy is about being diverse which illustrate that a different set of operation should be chosen to deliver a unique value to the clientele (Small biz CRM 2018). Given the actively configured capabilities and resources and strong corporate culture developed through decades on which the HM leaders aim to capitalise, there is every indication that the firm will be capable of sustaining its competitive advantage and keeping up with Zaras trends. The clothing business is contemplated to be highly competitive setting as numerous companies select to outsource non-core operations. Outsourcing enables firms to focus on their core activities. At the same time, other firms focus on gaining control over as much division as possible by analysing their value chain. HM is a well-recognized brand as they have loyal and secure consumers. Following above, it has been steady since its established in 1947 (Statista 2018). The trademark is placed well in a highly competitive market, only failing second in the rank just behind Zara. HM has a robust international organisation and hires many workers on an international basis. Externally, the company faces the forces such as political, economic, and social and technology. From the above assessment of HMs competitive advantages, main questions are how can HM turn its temporary competitive advantages and the areas of competitive parity into a more advantageous and sustainable position. It is worth noting that emphasise on companys competitive positions not only rely on its management of strategic ability but what their rivals do and how the situations changes. The HM started as a smaller participant with original and creative notions about the fashion sector. HM pursues the strategy concentrated on the long-term outlook with the unique model high prices at lower prices which offers the firm an unrelenting position in the clothing market. With a focus on economies of scale, high volume production and low wage, the firms maintain low input costs and often have the current styles in its shops. The strategic capability is concerned with the competencies and resources that a company employs to offer value to its clients. Mean Girls Personality Theory Paper Essay Example

Mean Girls Personality Theory Paper Paper The movie that I decided to watch was mean girls. This movie is about a teenage girl who lived in Africa because her parents were doing research and then they had all moved to America. The girl’s name in the movie was Cady and she had never been home schooled before she moved to the United States of America. Her first couple of days was rocky but she eventually made friends with two art students by the name of Janis Ian and Damien, her new friends told her to be careful around the popular girls in school known as the plastics. One day while Cady was looking for her friends, a girl by the name of Regina George the main leader of the plastics wanted her to join their group because she thought she was really pretty. Cady becomes a part of the group, but Janis convinces her to get revenge on Regina George because of Janis’s personal experience with Regina. Cady declines on getting revenge until Regina George gets back with her ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels who Cady liked and Regina claimed she would put in a good word for Cady. Cady then decided that she would get revenge on Regina, so the movie is basically showing how Cady evolved from a sweet girl into a typical teenage girl. The three theories that I decided to pick for this movie were Social Learning theory and Behaviorism. I chose social learning theory because the theory stated that an individual’s behavior will be influenced by the environment around them, and since Cady was around the plastics that always spread mean and vicious rumors she became one of them. Another theory that I thought that was displayed in the movie would be Dollard and Miller’s learning process which consisted of five steps, those four steps would be drive, cue, response, reinforcement effect. Drive is defined as a promotion of a specific action. Social learning theory was a theory that Albert Bandura developed which explained how an individual’s behavior is influenced by the environment around them. There are four steps in the social learning theory. There are four ways that social learning can be developed and those four are attentional processes, retention processes, motor production, and motivational processes. The attention process just states that people are more likely to direct their attention on charismatic attractive models, to repeat the behavior. The retention process is remembering schemas for later to put into use. Motor production is a convert, abstract idea to appropriate action. The motivational processes just states that there is an acquisition process which is what people learn to do, and performance would be when a person actually performed. The experiment that Bandura performed to prove this theory was the Bobo doll study. The study consisted of three groups of children. One group was shown an aggressive adult model and was asked to physically and verbally attack the doll. The second group was shown a passive adult model and was told to ask passively, and the control group did not have an adult model. When the children were sent in a playroom to play with multiple toys that including the Bobo doll. The children that were shown the aggressive adult model appeared to be more aggressive towards the doll, and hit it with various objects such as pots, pans and dolls. There were various scenes in mean girls that displayed the social learning theory. One of the examples would be when Janis Ian cut out the breast part out of Regina’s George’s tank top, Regina George noticed that she was wearing a shirt with the breasts cut out, but she didn’t care and went around the school that way, the whole school seen her and began to duplicate her style because they seen that an attractive model was wearing her tank top that way. This is part of the social learning theory because it states that there are four characteristics and one of them was attentional which just stated that people are more likely to copy other’s actions because they are attractive models. There were several examples of this throughout the movie, at one point during the movie a girl said she had seen Regina George wearing army pants and flip flops so she went to get the exact outfit that Regina George had. Another one of the attention model would be when Regina George’s little sister was in the living room listening to milkshake and watching girls gone wild, and a girl on the television lifted up her shirt, so Regina George’s sister lifted her shirt up as if she was one of the girls in the girls gone wild video. There were two examples of motivation models in the movie. One example would be when Cady skipped health class on her second day with Janis and Ian because they told her too, and that Cady was their friend. This is an example because while narrating the movie she stated that the reason that she stayed with them and skipped class was because Janis said that they were friends and she was in no position to pass up friends. Another one of the same would be when Cady was a nice girl at the beginning f the film and did not understand why everybody disliked the plastics until her supposed friend, Regina George was kissing Aaron Samuels the guy that Cady liked, after this happened Cady decided that she would be catty just like Regina George and use similar tactics to get even with her for that. It was acquired when the plastics asked Cady to sit with them, but it was carried out (performance) when she actually did stuff to sabotage Regina George. Skinner’s definition of behavior state d that behavior is a response to the environment. Skinner also stated the two types of behavior which are operant and respondent. Operant is when behavior is elicited by a person, it is not an automatic response and it is not learned. Behavior can be altered but it depends on the consequences. Respondent behavior is when behavior is elicited by stimulus, it is an automatic response, and is a behavior that people cannot learn. Respondent behavior can be altered through conditioning. In the movie mean girls this was displayed when Cady finally went to school, so that she could make friends. She was a nice and respecting young lady until she became a part of the popular girls. Cady’s behavior throughout the movie changed because she learned the behavior by hanging out with the popular girls. Cady was not interested in getting revenge on Regina George until she told Regina George that she liked Aaron Samuels and Regina George decided that she wanted to resume their relationship. So, when Cady saw that Regina George took Aaron Samuels back, Cady decided that she would join Janis in getting revenge. She learned her behavior from the plastics and Janis Ian. But at the end her behavior changed back to how it was in the beginning when she was a nice respectable girl. Cady’s behavior changing throughout the movie is described as operant behavior. Since Cady was punished toward the end of the movie for claiming that she was responsible for writing the burn book she was grounded by her parents, and her teacher made her join Mathletes because she was failing her math class. Her parents were provided her with a punishment because she was misbehaving and was trying to correct her behavior so that she could be similar to the girl that they know before she started high school.

Essay on Electronic music

Essay on Electronic music Essay on Electronic music Career Path Paper: Chemical Engineering Engineering Mr. Herm Chemical Engineering Professional Interview I interviewed my cousin Steven Lamb who has a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and is currently employed by EQT Production Company, he said he didn’t feel good about giving his email or phone number out but if really needed to he would. When asked to describe his engineering field Steven said petroleum engineering. His current job title is Development Planning Engineer where his particular job and duties are being in charge of planning all the tasks to make gas wells produced. Steven said his average work schedule is unpredictable but if had to give an answer it would be 9 hour days and have every other Friday off. Starting with high school Steven took all the basic classes need but was in all honors classes and took as many sciences and math classes possible including all the calculi. If he had to do it all over again relating to his career or education he said, â€Å"No I would not do anything differently, I really like my job!† The advice Steven would give t o someone interested in pursuing a career path similar to his would be that it is the most difficult career paths there is and you can’t have a social life but pays off big time in the end. The thing that surprised me the most about this interview was that you have to give up your social life to be able to do good in it in college. The most important piece of information that I learned from in this interview was how hard my cousin worked in college and how hard this career really is. This interview influenced my feelings about this career by making me think more about if I could handle it in college. Career Field Description The title of the job is Chemical engineering where you design the equipment and processes that are used for manufacturing some types of products such as: chemicals, food, fuel, drugs, paper, and plastics. The duties, responsibilities, and common work activities are developing new and improved processes of chemical production, chemical use, and transformation of raw materials along with designing safe equipment and determining the best way to do operations. Chemical engineers do a lot of their work in offices and laboratories, but some visit industrial plants and can be away from home for long periods of time. Chemical engineers often work under an immense amount of pressure, making it a stressful occupation and most work full time. Chemical Engineering is a very specialized it combines science, mathematics, physics, statistics, manufacturing, and environmental work to design equipment, plans, solutions and testing experiments, etc. Career Demand, Salary, and Education The likelihood of receiving a job in chemical engineering is likely with 33,300 jobs in 2012 but could be hard with a employment change from 2012-2022 being 1,500 making the job outlook 4% which is below average. Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, TX is in the greatest need for chemical engineering with 4,400 employed in 2013 and is an urban area with a population of 6.18 million. The main goal of adult criminal justice system is to ensure that future crime is deterred either by sentencing the offender or by assigning a punishment which is harsh enough so that others do not indulge in deviant acts. In case of juveniles, their criminal records are not made public as it is believed that they will be rehabilitated and they will be fit to be a part of the society and in order to ensure that they do not experience stigmatization. Critiqueexhibition Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Critiqueexhibition - Essay Example Overall, the exhibition proved to be a pleasant display: very pleasing to the eyes and deserving of the audience's awe. The "Stylized Sculpture" exhibition does not use plaques or other writings to describe the works of art displayed. Rather, they have carefully placed black and white photographs of the fashions to show the true art form found within the garments; then mannequins are used to display the fashions near the photos. The surrounding walls are blank from text, colors, or other pictures. In their stead, the audience is given a brochure to explain each piece of art and fashion. These brochures include information about the fashion - such as the designer - as well as a detailed description of the accompanying work of art. The fashions appear in order of their design, from 1983 to 2007. The use of lighting on the mannequins helps emphasize the lines and forms of the fashions as displayed by Sugimoto's photographs. This brilliant use of lighting and lack of distracting materials made this exhibit unique and attention grabbing. My attention was drawn to exactly what the artist wished me to see: the form and sculptural essence apparent in Japanese fashions. The lighting used for this exhibition was carefully placed both to make the photographs easy to view and to enhance the shadows and forms of the fashions on the mannequins.

The Consequence From The Ineffective Listening English Language Essay

The Consequence From The Ineffective Listening English Language Essay There are few common barriers to good and effective listening. One of them is,Knowing the answer. It means that you assume that you already have an idea on the content of the message before the speaker actually finishes it. In some situation, you might interrupt her or selfishly try to make the sentence complete for them. The worst thing is you interfere the speaker and say you are disagreeing with their opinion. It is rude because you are not letting others to finish up their sentences. This is the main factor that makes a discussion to end up without a decision and it is common happen when two team in an organization have their own idea and both not listening each other and stand on their own way. It can be said that you are not appreciating and not value the message send by the speaker to you by distracting the speaker before letting them to finish their sentences. Crucial component in good listening is showing respect to the speaker. Pre-judgement on what the speaker going to say or it can be said as closed mindedness contributes to listening barrier. Be open or receptive minded person is a characteristic of a good listener. Good listener will stretch his mind and looks for available chance to obtain new idea or insight rather than stick to existing idea or their own point of view. Other than that, trying to be helpful is another barrier in listening skill. Although we assume that it seems to be beneficial if we are trying to be helpful, but it turns into horrible situation when it come into listening. Its actually interferes effective listening. This is because the listeners is considering solving the speakers problem. The result is the listener misses the words throws or what actually message saying by the speaker. When walking, walk. When eating, eat., this is some proverb say in old Zen. This can be clearly stated that we need to put our full attention to anything that we are currently doing. It is worth stressing that the aim of good listening depends on how much attention we put on listening to receive the message sends by the speakers. Giving advice during speakers try to explain something which they experience may break the flow of conversation. Thus, it affects both parties by which the speakers did not pass the message accurately and the listeners did not get the exact content from the communication process. Messiah complex is one of the common problem faces by many people. It can well describe as we try to rescue or fix other people problem as a means of feeling fulfilled. This type of people usually not called as problem-solvers. Nevertheless, mannerism can be a huge obstacle to good listening. Trying to say something while listening will also reflect that you have made particular judgments about the message sender which is the speaker. Emotional distractions carry few percentages in effective communication. Early judgement by the listener can mean that the listeners does not have whole comprehended on the message though by the speakers. The true act of love and respect which you can offer is you give a person your 100% attention while listening. Listen and understand your team mate can empower the relationship between team members because human beings are such social animals. When the speakers starts to explain their long-term problem and you offer a facile or off-the-cuff solution and this would be inappropriate. This is because you might forget that the speaker may take into consideration your immediate solution long time before. Another significant barrier to good listening is some people feel that it is a sign of weakness when we agree or in the same line with the speaker during a heated conference. They feel induced to argue each point the speaker said even though if the listener inwardly agrees. The person who keeps arguing will wins the most point in a discussion. When we treat a discussion as a competition will be the biggest barriers to good listening. It prevents the listener from viewing an idea in difference prospective. It can be very frustrating on behalf of the speaker. This situation often we can see in an organization. When two teams try to defend their own opinion and idea, they tend to interfere when opposition team explaining their arguments. This makes an organization to rupture. A good listener just relies on listening. Any unnecessary motive will indirectly diminish the concentration of the listener. Trying to influence or impress the speaker is an example of ulterior motive. When a listeners have any other agenda rather than simply to understand what the speakers try to think and feel will not helping them to focus while listening. People can understand a language three or two times faster than any words they speak this is what been claim by psychologists. This shows that a listener has a lot of extra mental bandwidth or wide range of field to think about other things when listen to speaker. Spare few space or capacity to contemplate about what the content of message send by speaker will be a valuable characteristic of a good listener. During conversation process in an organization, an ulterior motive employee will try to impress the manager and will possibly make use of the spare capacity to start thinking of his next move. This type of employee will thin k what they need to say next or rebuttal when their manager finished with their sentences. The employee is not focusing on understanding the message send to them. Believing in language can be arduous barriers to an effective listening. In other word is, we tend to interpret some rarely used or double meaning words with unmatched meaning. Some people think that, language can be a guessing game. Both speaker and listener use language to surmise each other to think on the subject matter. Some words do have several meaning. When the speaker throws any words by assuming that listener must understand it, thus the fallacy on the speaker side. It is not practical to think that definition of a word can be sent live from the dictionary to the listener through the word. Why didnt you understand, I already said it perfectly and clearly?, this is an example of fallacy which a speaker may do during conversation. Of course, the simple-minded assumption here is words that other people understand can be understand by others too. These can be applicable, when particular word containing absolute meaning. This is because each word gives unique effect to a person. The consequence is the person will try to relate the word based on their unique experience. Few differences can be tolerated but it will cause misunderstanding when we try to interpret most of the word in our own definition and experience. It will become a severe problem when senior worker use any word or term in conversation which based on experience with their junior worker. If the junior worker does not have the same experience as the senior worker, then the words is pointless. The worst case is the junior worker may silently make the word match with a difference experience. There are few strategies can be taken to create a good listening. A good listener will listen not only to what is being said, but also to what is left unsaid or only partially said. Listening involves observing body language and noticing inconsistencies between verbal and non-verbal messages. For example, if someone tells you that they are happy with their life but through gritted teeth or with tears filling their eyes, you should consider that the verbal and non-verbal messages are in conflict, they maybe dont mean what they say.   Listening requires you to concentrate and use your other senses in addition to simply hearing the words spoken.  Listening is not the same as hearing and in order to listen effectively you need to use more than just your ears. 1. Stop Talking If we were supposed to talk more than we listen, we would have two tongues and one ear. Mark Twain. Dont talk, listen.   When somebody else is talking listen to what they are saying, do not interrupt, talk over them or finish their sentences for them.   Stop, just listen.   When the other person has finished talking you may need to clarify to ensure you have received their message accurately. 2. Prepare Yourself to Listen Relax.  Focus on the speaker.  Put other things out of mind.   The human mind is easily distracted by other thoughts whats for lunch, what time do I need to leave to catch my train, is it going to rain try to put other thoughts out of mind and concentrate on the messages that are being communicated. 3. Put the Speaker at Ease Help the speaker to feel free to speak.   Remember their needs and concerns.   Nod or use other gestures or words to encourage them to continue.   Maintain eye contact but dont stare show you are listening and understanding what is being said. 4. Remove Distractions Focus on what is being said: dont doodle, shuffle papers, look out the window, pick your fingernails or similar. Avoid unnecessary interruptions.   These behaviours disrupt the listening process and send messages to the speaker that you are bored or distracted. 5. Empathise Empathy is a selfless act, it enables us to learn more about people and relationships with people it is a desirable skill beneficial to ourselves, others and society.   Ã‚  Phrases such as being in your shoes and soul mates imply empathy empathy has even been likened to a spiritual or religious state of connection with another person or group of people. I call him religious who understands the suffering of others. -Mahatma Gandhi Try to understand the other persons point of view.   Look at issues from their perspective.   Let go of preconceived ideas.   By having an open mind we can more fully empathise with the speaker.   If the speaker says something that you disagree with then wait and construct an argument to counter what is said but keep an open mind to the views and opinions of others. 6. Be Patient A pause, even a long pause, does not necessarily mean that the speaker has finished.   Be patient and let the speaker continue in their own time, sometimes it takes time to formulate what to say and how to say it.   Never interrupt or finish a sentence for someone. 7. Avoid Personal Prejudice Try to be impartial.   Dont become irritated and dont let the persons habits or mannerisms distract you from what they are really saying.   Everybody has a different way of speaking some people are for example more nervous or shy than others, some have regional accents or make excessive arm movements, some people like to pace whilst talking others like to sit still.   Focus on what is being said and try to ignore styles of delivery. 8. Listen to the Tone Effective speaking has nothing to do with the outdate concept of elocution where everyone was encouraged to speak in the same correct manner.   Rather, effective speaking concerns being able to speak in a public context with confidence and clarity, while at the same time reflecting ones own personality. Volume and tone both add to what someone is saying.   A good speaker will use both volume and tone to their advantage to keep an audience attentive; everybody will use pitch, tone and volume of voice in certain situations let these help you to understand the emphasis of what is being said. 9. Listen for Ideas Not Just Words You need to get the whole picture, not just isolated bits and pieces.   Maybe one of the most difficult aspects of listening is the ability to link together pieces of information to reveal the ideas of others.  Ã‚   With proper concentration, letting go of distractions, and focus this becomes easier. 10. Wait and Watch for Non-Verbal Communication Gestures, facial expressions, and eye-movements can all be important.   We dont just listen with our ears but also with our eyes watch and pick up the additional information being transmitted via non-verbal communication. Do not jump to conclusions about what you see and hear. You should always seek clarification to ensure that your understanding is correct. Non-verbal communications include  facial expressions, the  tone and pitch  of the voice,  gestures  displayed through  body language (kinesics)  and the physical  distance between communicators (proxemics). These non-verbal signals can give clues and additional information and meaning over and above spoken (verbal) communication.
